There were numerous different jobs in the   mines and even more ways to get killed,  I estimate about 100 men a week were dying in C19th mines and quarries,
This index does not list miners by job but classes everyone as a mine worker, likewise quarrymen are not identified separately except by their place of work.
The main BSI also lists reports for both miners and quarrymen.
This index represents only a small number of the total reports available, far too many to list, so I am able to offer a LOOK-UP SERVICE for reports of miners' deaths, if you know the year and the district or colliery I should be able to find a report of  it. Only £5 per name, but please email your request.
